The mass scuttling took place at the order of Admiral de Laborde, Commander-in-Chief of the French fleet.  The following ships were sunk.  An asterisk (*) indicates the unit became operational in Axis service. Only sparsely crewed, Tigre fell into German hands nearly undamaged.
