This page is a collection of miscellaneous Italian 120 mm (4.7") guns, none of which were of much importance.  As detailed information for these guns is limited, rather than creating a page for each one, I have decided to combine them into a single page.

120 mm/50 (4.7") Model 1909

Elswick Pattern "EE" and similar Vickers BL guns.  Elswick guns used on Dante, Cesare, Quarto and Leonardo Marsala.  Vickers guns used on Leonardo da Vinci and Cavour.  By World War II, these guns were only used in coastal batteries.  Weight with breech mechanism for Elswick guns was 3.37 tons (3.42 mt).  Muzzle velocity with 50.15 lbs (22.75 kg) shell was 2,756 fps (840 mps).

Used on Balilla and Fieramosca but removed prior to World War II and then used as AA guns at Messina.  Muzzle velocity with 42.7 lbs. (19.4 kg) shells was 2,395 fps (730 mps) and ceiling given as 25,600 ft. (7,800 m).

120 mm/15 (4.7") OTO 1933 and 1934
.
Star shell howitzers used on Maestrale, Oriani and some of the "Soldati" class.  Also used for a short period on Zara class.  Elevation was -5 / +50 degrees.  Muzzle velocity with 43.7 lbs. (19.8 kg) shells was 1,312 fps (400 mps).  Effective range given as 4,400 yards (4,000 m) and maximum range as 7,000 yards (6,400 m).
