请问早期航母的阻拦索是什么形制的
在下最近在看British Aircragt Carriers(design,development and service Histories)这本书的时候注意到一个问题,在讲到初代鹰号航母的时候,讲鹰号完工时有fore-and-aft retaining wires between the lift 这段话。这阻拦索是舰艏到舰尾方向的,后世所见的阻拦索是左舷到右舷方向的。为何会有这样的不同,请问这和早期飞机的性能有关吗还是我理解有问题呢。怎么可能有沿飞行甲板方向布置的阻拦索,难道飞机要横着降落么
这句话的意思是升降级之间的前部和后部阻拦索吧。 同书39页:
its arresting gear took the form of longitudinal wires
intended to engage hooks on the axles of landing aircraft to prevent
their deviation from the deck’s axis

The fore-and-aft 320-foot (97.5 m) arresting gear was not intended to stop landing aircraft—the landing speeds of the time were low enough that this was unnecessary given a good headwind—but rather to prevent aircraft from veering off to one side and potentially falling off the flight deck.

对不起前辈,应该是我把retaining wire的意思弄错了,这个应该是在甲板两侧的网,防止飞机掉到海里的,阻拦索应该是arresting wire。 VivinL 发表于 2017-5-10 16:13

Eight months later, on 1 April 1922, the call went out for the design of an arresting gear to be used upon USS Lexington (CV 2) and USS Saratoga (CV 3). The Navy specifications stated the “arresting gear will consist of two or more transverse wires stretched across the fore and aft wires… lead around sheaves placed outboard to hydraulic brakes. The plane after engaging the traverse wire is guided down the deck by the fore and aft wires and is brought to rest by the action of the traverse wire working with the hydraulic brakes.”

拦阻装置包含两道或更多道横跨纵向(fore and after)钢索的横向钢索……飞机接触纵向钢索之后减速,并被纵向钢索引导直至停止。
换言之拦阻装置是一组纵向钢索加上两到三道我们现代意义上看到的“拦阻索”
纵向钢索限制飞机着舰过程中的横向位移,使飞机保持(retain)降落航线。
retaining wire的用词很精确,至于说是甲板两侧防止飞机翻下去的网,反而是误译了。这东西就在甲板上只不过是在另一种意义上“拦阻”用的。

注意飞机方向与钢索方向的关系。
